Farmers Market Co-Founder Announces Endorsements

The open seats on Menlo Park's City Council are coveted political positions.

While our Farmers Market did not end up on the list of the 5 most favorite California farmers markets, it appears that we did end up in the top ten.  Thank you for taking time to vote for our Market.

And, speaking of voting, there are two individuals who have been weekly shoppers at our Menlo Farmers Market and both are running for seats on the City Council.   Both are also strong supporters of the Market and will not support changes that would harm the existing Market.

is currently the Chair of the Transportation Commission.  Ray’s website address is www.MuellerForMenloPark.com

is currently the Vice-Chair of the Parks & Recreation Commission.  Cat’s website is www.CarltonForMenloPark.com

If you are eligible to vote in Menlo Park, we encourage you to check out the websites above and consider voting for these two Farmers Market supporters.  Both Ray and Cat will be coming to the Market to meet with residents up until election time.  This will give you an opportunity to meet them in person.

If you are not eligible to vote in Menlo Park elections, but you are entitled to vote in County-level elections for San Mateo County, we’d like to ask your support for one of our long-time and loyal Farmers Market vendors – namely Pietro Parravano, who supplies Market goers with fresh fish every weekend.

Pietro is running for Harbor Commissioner for San Mateo County and has a long record as an activist for protection and responsible husbandry of our fishery resources.  Quoting from an article in the online website “In Menlo” –

“Parravano has been at the forefront of the movement to help people understand that the interests of commercial fishing and northern California environmentalists overlap.  As president of theInstitute of Fisheries Resources, he advocates on behalf of sustainable fisheries and the future of commercial fishermen – and encourages consumers to seek out local seafood.”

No matter which direction you lean politically, we strongly urge you to exercise your vote.  If  in doing so, you want to favor those that we support from our market perspective, we endorse Ray Mueller, Catherine Carlton, and our very own Pietro Parravano.

We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements. Learn more here
