Clucking Success of a Turkey Drive at Sacred Heart Preparatory

Sacred Heart Preparatory students collected hundreds of frozen turkeys to benefit local charities for the Thanksgiving holiday.

To feed the hungry and underserved in the San Francisco peninsula community for the Thanksgiving holiday, high school students at Sacred Heart Preparatory competed in their annual turkey drive on November 16, 2012 to benefit the St. Francis Center in Redwood City, and St. Anthony’s Dining Hall in Menlo Park.  This year students collected 418 frozen turkeys, more than doubling last year’s efforts.

The four high school classes at Sacred Heart also competing to see which class would donate the highest number of Thanksgiving birds.  The winners were the sophomore class, bringing in 145 frozen birds, with juniors taking the runner up title (101 turkeys), followed by the freshmen (85 turkeys) and then seniors (75 turkeys).
