What Are You Thankful For This Year?

As Thanksgiving and the holiday season is upon us, we at Patch are giving thanks and we'd love for you to join us.

The year 2011 has taken many twists and turns in the news and in our lives here at Patch.

When we take a moment to reflect at who and what surrounds us, we realize that there is an abundance to be thankful for.

We are grateful for our friends and families, our neighbors and colleagues. We are thankful to live in the beautiful cities that dot the Peninsula and San Mateo County coastline. And we are very thankful for you - the community we cover daily and for whom Patch would not exist without.

There is so much to be thankful for this holiday season, and we would love for you to share your thoughts with us.

Watch the video and upload one of your own, submit a photo of the people in your lives you appreciate, or tell us in the comments what you are thankful for!

Patch - thanks for all of the great info you provide me with each morning. And I love this post that really gets us thinking about what we are THANKFUL for. It's something we all need to have top of mind. Along those lines, I have created a list of Best Ways to Give Back, with some great local places that help those less fortunate. Feel free to add more: http://www.skinnyscoop.com/list/Erin/how-to-teach-the-gift-of-giving-back-as-a-family

I'm really thankful that my family and I will be able to enjoy the smell of turkey and stuffing at my 87 year old mothers house (yes I will be lifting the turkey into the oven.) Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'm so thankful for my quirky family, and the amazing Mexican, Chinese and American spread that we'll be feasting on allllll day Thursday! I'm also thankful for our troops who are still overseas fighting to protect the very liberties that I often take for granted. And while Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays of the year, I hope we can keep up this gratitude year round and remember to treat everyone the way we'd like to be treated.

I'm thankful to AmeriCorps for giving my son such an amazing experience working in Glacier National Park for the past six months with the Montana Conservation Corps. Let's hope our government continues to fund this amazing program for young people.

I am grateful for many things. Just to mention a few- I am grateful I have a wonderful husband and 2 darling cats. I am blessed to have work and many friends. I am Thankful to Senior Coastsiders here on the coast, They give out so much to all the dear seniors who are in need. The manager of the thrift store is a real blessing in helping many along with the staff at Senior Coastsiders.
