Fundraiser Scheduled for Woodside Road Fire Survivors

USA Walking on Water will be hosting a fundraiser in Redwood City on Tuesday to benefit the Woodside Road Fire survivors.

USA Walking on Water will be hosting a fundraiser in Redwood City on Tuesday to benefit the Woodside Road Fire survivors.

The fire at the Hallmark House Apartments tore through the building last week, claiming the life of one and injuring 20 others.  About 100 people who survived the fire were displaced from their homes and are now seeking ways to regain stability in their lives.

Organizers of Tuesday's fundraiser say that it will feature inflatable balloons that kids can crawl inside. Inside of the balloons, children can walk on water in a small pool, if they can stay on their feet, like a hamster inside of a plastic ball.

The event is from 3-8 p.m. at Red Morton Park, which is located at 932 Valota Road in Redwood City.

Tickets are $8.

Proceeds from the event, after labor costs, will go to the families who survived the fire.
