Volunteer with Menlo Park for Coastal Cleanup Day

The California Coastal Commission is proud to announce the 29th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day, the state’s largest volunteer event. The event will take place at more than 800 locations around the state on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 9 AM to Noon. The Cleanup is the State’s largest single effort to remove the debris that has accumulated on our beaches and inland shorelines over the past year, bringing tens of thousands of volunteers out annually to protect the marine wildlife and habitat that can be badly damaged by debris. Last year, over 65,000 volunteers removed almost 770,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from California's beaches, lakes, and waterways.

The City of Menlo Park is asking for volunteers to help us clean up our waterways and participate in this event by emailing recycle@menlopark.org or calling Environmental Programs at 650-330-6720.
