The Roger Steen Band and The Miles Schon Band at Club Fox, Redwood City

Tubes lead guitarist Roger Steen and Miles Schon, son of Journey's Neal Schon, will bring their bands to co-headline at Club Fox in Redwood City
on Friday, November 8.

Roger Steen is a founding member and lead
guitarist for the iconic band, The Tubes, and has brought together
talented Bay Area musicians to form The Roger Steen Band. The band
showcases Steen’s original works as well as artistic interpretations of
cover tunes. The
band performs rock reminiscent of The Tubes, Dire Straits,
and Steely Dan, with influences from pop, fusion, country, and jazz. The
mix comes together in a tasteful blend that has entertained audiences throughout the Bay Area.

Miles Schon is a talented musician and songwriter who hails from a
rich background in rock-n-roll. He is very modest about his background,
playing down the fact that his father is one of the great American
guitarists (Neal Schon, one of the founding members of the legendary
rock band Journey), still he is rooted and grounded in the music his
father turned him on to. Citing Jeff Beck as his all time favorite, he
grew up listening to Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana and Eric
Clapton. He describes his sound as "progressive hard rock with blues and
pop/R&b mixed into one…" and when questioned about his comparisons
to his father, he replies, "I’ve heard [the comparisons] my whole life. I
just pay attention to what I sound like and what I try to do. I’m
working on my own style."

Each band will play a full set for this double-bill.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and show time is 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8. Tickets are $18 adv., $23 at the door. (http://www.ticketfly.com/purchase/event/395903)
