Neighborhood Service Center Grand Opening

The City of Menlo Park is celebrating the Grand Opening of the new Neighborhood Service Center and Police Substation in Belle Haven on Saturday, April 26th, from 10:00 am to Noon. The Center is located in a former real estate office in the commercial center located at 871 Hamilton Avenue, at the corner of Willow Road. Facebook generously donated the costs of the remodel and furnishings for the Center, which is seen as both a gathering place for residents and a substation for Police Services.

Menlo Park Mayor Ray Mueller, who is hosting the event along with members of the City Council, Police Chief Bob Jonsen and Facebook representatives, encourages community members to come to the event, enjoy refreshments and tour the new facility. “It is such a wonderful moment in the history of our City to finally open a police station in Menlo Park near the bay that our residents both so richly deserve and can be proud of. Our kids and our community will be safer and I can’t wait to celebrate.”

In addition to Police services, the Neighborhood Service Center will house City code enforcement offices, an ATM and office of the San Mateo Credit Union, and serve as a community meeting spot. “Facebook has done a tremendous job turning this into a welcoming community space. I truly hope the neighborhood visits the Center and takes full advantage of all it will have to offer,” says Mayor Mueller.

The new facility replaces the former Police substation located at Newbridge Street and Willow Road. The Belle Haven Neighborhood Service Center will be opened to the public Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Parking will be limited for the Grand Opening event, so Greenheart Land Company is generously providing their vacant property on Hamilton Avenue for parking.
