El Camino Hospital Foundation Sapphire Soiree

The El Camino Hospital Foundation will host its third annual Sapphire Soirée on April 27 from 6:00 p.m. – midnight at the Menlo Circus Club.  World-renowned musician Chris Isaak will be the featured entertainer. Guests will also be able to participate in the “Sip for a Sapphire” fundraiser for the chance to win a beautiful gem donated by Darren McClung Precious Jewelers and to bid on live auction packages including an electric guitar autographed by Chris Isaak and a personal wine consultation paired with a wine tasting dinner, among other fabulous items.  Sandra and Doug Bergeron and Katie and Greg Morganroth, MD, are this year’s co-chairs.   Pamela and Edward Taft are honorary chairs.

Over the last two years, the Sapphire Soirée has raised more than $1.1 million for the Cancer Center at El Camino Hospital.  Proceeds have been used to establish several new programs, including the patient navigation program, which provides cancer patients with an advocate who can help them navigate every aspect of care from education about treatment options to referrals for support services and assistance with insurance and financial issues.  Soirée proceeds also helped to establish the High Risk Breast Program, which informs women of their lifetime risk for breast cancer so they and their physicians can devise proactive, personal breast health care plans, and a dedicated Melanoma Program that provides education, screenings, preventative care and early detection of this potentially deadly disease.
