Sand Hill Road To Close

Menlo Park changing lane closure time from night to day.

The City of Menlo Park will be closing Sand Hill Road during the day, starting Thursday morning at 9 a.m.

PG&E crews have been working for the past few nights on a .  Night work was determined to be too loud for residents near the work zone, according to people familiar with the matter.

Local transportation officials said the schedule change was done to improve safety.

“In order to provide a safer work area, the city will be closing both traffic lanes in the westbound direction between Branner Drive and Saga Lane, and converting the eastbound side of Sand Hill Road to two-way traffic during PG&E working hours,” said Ruben Nino, assistant public works director for the City of Menlo Park.

“The westbound lanes will be re-opened at the end of each working day,” he added.

Lanes are expected to reopen at 3 p.m. until the work is completed.  Nino expects construction to conclude in October.

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
