Students, Parents, and Teachers Are In for Menlo Park's Schools

Menlo Park schools celebrate Are You In? day to highlight community support of public education.

Yesterday marked the second annual Are You In? day for the schools In the Menlo Park City School District (MPCSD)—Laurel, Encinal, Oak Knoll, and Hillview.

The day was the culmination of the joint fundraising campaign between the school PTOs and the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation (MPAEF). The idea behind the celebration? Remind the school and broader community that their support and financial donations are needed to provide vital programs and resources like art, music, library, field trips, assemblies, and school events, as well as classroom teachers to help keep class sizes down.

Wearing orange, waving signs, and sporting Are You In stickers, everyone got in on the act.

Hear more about Are You In — from students — in this video.

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
