Welch Road To Reopen For Two-Way Traffic

The Welch Road Utility Project at Stanford University is concluding earlier than anticipated.

Welch Road on Stanford University will reopen for two-way traffic on July 22, four months earlier than project managers expected.

The road had been a one-way street since October 2011, as part of the Stanford University Medical Center Renewal Project. The road is one of the main ways to get into the medical center, thus the plan was to widen it. Project managers also added the capacity to feed more utilities to the center while they were at it.

On Monday, Welch Road will re open in both directions. Driveways to 750 and 770 Welch are open. However, the Vineyard Lane route to those addresses will close on July 23.

Vineyard Lane will can be used to get to  the Packard Clinics and Outpatient MRI Center, which are located at 730 and 732 Welch Road.
