Get on the Shelf features inventors hoping to get their products made and sold at Walmart.

Local inventor Synette Tom, who came up with the Gibi Pet Location Service, is one of two Bay Area residents to be a finalist on a new Walmart reality web series called Get on the Shelf.

Tom and Gabriel Bestard-Ribas of San Francisco, inventor of the Goji Smart Lock, are among 20 finalists.

Tom's invention is a GPS tracking device that enables pet owner to locate their pet at any time using their smart phone or computer.

"Getting on the shelf is huge, " Tom says in her video posted on the website. "Walmart should take a chance on me and Gibi because no one should lose their pet and their best friend."

The Goji Smart Lock is an electronic deadbolt that works with a smart phone, and has built-in camera that sends picture alerts.
