Photos: Meandering Through Maker Faire

Careening through the crowds with a camera.

The scent of oily garlic fries wafted into my nose as I checked into the media table at Maker Faire. Initially the plan was to find all the flame throwers and steam punk contraptions I could and try to fenangle a way to play with them. And then I saw Mike Rowe doing a standup in front of Discovery Channel cameras.

A brunette with spiked hair about an inch long, wearing a jean jacket with the sleeves cut off, abruptly pushed me back as if I were going to run up to him and try to pinch his face.  Sure, the man is quite dreamy.  But I'm not a screaming Beiber fan.

With two bars on my camera's battery status indicator, I meandered through the crowds to make my way to the Tech Shop and find fellow nerds who were from Menlo Park.

Hey, Menlo School was there. I added a photo of their booth to your collection. If I understood correctly it shows an innovative musical wind instrument where pitch was determined by carefully-spaced perforations in a Spinning Wheel. The kids must have put a lot of Blood Sweat and Tears into that project! (Either you get that or you don't.)
