Families from all over the Menlo Park/Atherton area came to celebrate the traditional Iranian holiday with colorful food, dances, outfits and activities.

Narouz takes place in the spring each year, and typically consists of 13 days of traditional celebrations.

"Each year when the sun directly faces the Earth's equator, the Persian New Year, Narouz, comes," explains Melody Mortazavi of U-Me. "It brings with it 13 days of festivities, fun and spring."

U-Me is located at 3355 Edison Way in Menlo Park. The center was recently voted second in for the best place to throw a kid's birthday party in Menlo Park.
