Fashion and Fitness in Menlo Park This Weekend

A free workout and a fundraising fashion show are just two of the things on the calendar in Menlo Park this weekend.

Menlo Atherton Fashion Show

Saturday will be the time to check out fashion with the members of the senior class of Menlo Atherton High School. The girls are the models and the dancers in what is the major fundraising event for the school PTA.  (Last year, the fashion show netted $50,000). There are three shows; at 1 p.m. with an optional pre-show luncheon at 11:45 a.m.; a  4 p.m. matinee, and a grand finale at 7:30 p.m. finale. Menlo Atherton High School is at 555 Middlefield Road. Chicken Big and Spaceheadz

There's a kids book doubleheader coming up in the next few days. First Sunday, there will be a reading of "Chicken Big," is a book for kids about an unusually large chicken. And your kid might get a real kick out of Chicken Big. But don't think you are done. There's another children's book reading Monday at the Menlo Park Library. Jon Scieska, will read from his new series, "Spaceheadz." Art in Action

If you would like to support art programs in Menlo schools, Monday is a chance for you to do so. That's when Art in Action's third-annual benefit luncheon will take place. ABC anchor Carolyn Johnson will emcee the event. Also on display will be work by sculptor Fletcher Benton, student artists from Orion School and other  local artists. The event is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday Tickets are $85. The luncheon is being held at , which i at 2900 Sand Hill Road. San Francisquito Creek Planting and Weeding Day

Get out and help clean up the San Francisquito Creek this Saturday. It's creek planting and weeding day and volunteers will be gathering from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Creek and University Drives. Saturday's event is set to take place rain or shine and your willing hands will be welcomed by the environmental group, Acterra, which is spearheading this project. Menlo Fit Boot Camp

If you're really feeling energetic Saturday morning, stop by for their free Saturday morning Boot Camp.  Menlo Fit gives you this chance to work out from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Arrive 15 minute early to warm up.
