Mildred Pierce: The Book, The Movie, The Pies!

Join us in the Elm Room  newly remodeled Arillaga Family Recreation Center for a book and film discussion led by Lauren John and Nick Szegda.  Nick will show film clips and Lauren will tell us about the 1941 James Cain novel about fictional, cultural icon Mildred Pierce--a 1930s housewife and mother from Glendale, California who threw her cheating husband out and then went on to own a successful chain of cafes during the Great Depression.  The program is free and free refreshments will be served.
