Friday, April 26

Peninsula Bike Party Earth Ride

7:30 pm; Woodside Hotels & Resorts, 1100 Alma St, Menlo Park

FREE; Peninsula Bike Party is a monthly night-time urban slow-paced social bike ride that meets on the Fourth Friday of every month at 7:30 pm. We'rebuilding community through cycling on the San Francisco Peninsula. Everyone's Welcome.

The next ride meets at the Menlo Park Caltrain Station on Friday, April 26 at 7:30 pm. The route is a flat 16 miles and will include three regroups. The first regroup is a Dance Party featuring DJ Marky Mark & the Funky Bike Party Bunch at Motostrano/Suburban Bikes at 926 Broadway in Redwood City, from 8:30 - 9:00 pm. Mighty Mississippi - Acoustic Blues

MILKSHAKE: Creating Great Rock Music for Kids

1:00 pm; Performing Arts Center at Menlo-Atherton High School, 555 Middlefield Rd, Atherton

$8; Join the City of Menlo Park Community Services Department for an hour of fun at the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center! In Milkshake's short nine years together, the band has released four award-winning CDs, a Parents Choice Silver Award for their DVD Screen Play, and they have had music videos on Noggin, PBS KIDS and Discovery Kids’ Emmy-winning ToddWorld.  The band has never stopped growing and evolving.  

 

El Camino Hospital Foundation Sapphire Soiree

5:30 pm; 190 Park Ln, Atherton

$500; The El Camino Hospital Foundation will host its third annual Sapphire Soirée on April 27 from 6:00 p.m. – midnight at the Menlo Circus Club.  World-renowned musician Chris Isaak will be the featured entertainer. Guests will also be able to participate in the “Sip for a Sapphire” fundraiser for the chance to win a beautiful gem donated by Darren McClung Precious Jewelers and to bid on live auction packages including an electric guitar autographed by Chris Isaak and a personal wine consultation paired with a wine tasting dinner.

Hats Off to Dr. Seuss!

10:00 am; Peabody Gallery, 603 Santa Cruz Ave, Menlo Park

Peabody Fine Art, Menlo Park’s premier fine art gallery, is honored to present Hats Off to Dr. Seuss!. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of Dr. Seuss’s second book, The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins, Dr. Seuss’s never-before-seen hat collection will be exhibited from April 26 – May 12 at the gallery.
