House Hunt: The Hills of University Heights

Near Alameda De Las Pulgas and Valparaiso Avenue is a charming neighbohood, close to shopping, restaurants and downtown.

With a unique proximity to just about everything, the University Hills neighborhood offers its residents an easy commute to a variety of local restaurants, services like the Post Office, Sharon Park and downtown.

Good schools--including private schools and preschools--serve the young families living nearby. The occasional street gate and speed bump have been installed to reduce the speed of commuters in the neighborhood--after all, some may be in a hurry to get home and relax.

A mix of Craftsman, Spanish, post-modern and California bungalow architectural styles offer potential home buyers a wide selection.  Most bungalows have been remodeled and enlarged since first being built.

While you won't need a backpack or walking stick to climb the modest hills here,  you can improve your fitness by simply walking around the neighborhood in some sensible, but attractive, shoes.
