House Hunt: The Allied Arts Neighborhood

A peaceful, tranquil place for even the slightly quirky.

Allied Arts is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Menlo Park, so named for the Allied Arts Guild at 75 Arbor Dr.  The Guild has been providing space for select artists to sell their wares since 1929.  On its 3.5 acres, the Guild also contains a restaurant, gardens and meeting spaces.

Bounded by Middle Avenue, El Camino Real, Creek Drive, Arbor Road and San Francisquito Creek, the neighborhood is fortunate not to be bisected by the train or freeway, giving it a quiet, tranquil ambiance.

Amongst the shade and privacy provided by hundreds of oak, bay laurel and redwood trees, are a mix of Craftsman, Spanish and post-modern homes.

The average home price is slightly above the Menlo Park average, at around $1.4 million.

Little to no traffic allows the streets to be safe places to walk the dog, take the baby out for a stroll or head over to the Guild to see what’s happening.
