Did you know in San Mateo County, 15% of adults have difficulty completing job applications, reading street signs, or understanding the instructions on a medicine bottle? For the past 27 years, Project Read-Menlo Park has been helping adults improve their reading and writing, making them more effective at home, at work, and in the community.

Registration is underway for Project Read-Menlo Park's Volunteer Tutor Training.  The next session begins October 9th, 5:30 - 8:30 pm and continues on Saturday, October 13th, 10 am - 3 pm.  The final part of the training, to be held in November, is a meeting for tutors who have started regularly working with students.

So happy that story about Google killing the Google Reader app was a joke. Google Reader is myRead More favorite way to read the Menlo Park Patch. Without Google Reader, I would miss all the great articles here.
