New bus routes for Menlo Park City School District

ROUTE EXPANSION
The yellow school bus will now serve The Willows and Vintage Oaks to Laurel School mornings and after school.

The yellow school bus will also continue to serve Linfield Oaks, Suburban Park and Lorelei Manor to and from Encinal School.

The new morning route no longer travels on Marsh Rd to Encinal School and arrives at 7:57am to ensure students are on time.

For routes and schedules, visit: http://transportation.mpcsd.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/group_pages.phtml?gid=1573800&nid=392234

ELIGIBILITY
The yellow bus serves Laurel and Encinal students in grades K through 2.

The Encinal bell schedule allows for Encinal 3rd graders to ride in the morning but not after school.

The Laurel bell schedule allows for Laurel 3rd graders to ride after school but not in the morning.

We regret that the yellow bus no longer serves students living in the attendance boundary of one school and attending the other.

If the bus does not meet your needs, please see "Alternatives" below for other options.

We sincerely wish every student could ride on every route and are always looking for ways to expand and improve service. Thank you for your understanding.

ALTERNATIVES

Many families form groups to share the walk or bike to school or to create car pool schedules. Take advantage of the District's online tool for scheduling commute groups:  http://transportation.mpcsd.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/group_pages.phtml?gid=1573800&nid=390206 (Only MPCSD families are permitted to register.)

The District is sharing Safe Routes to School maps that identify the preferred routes for biking and walking within a one-mile radius of MPCSD schools. The maps are intended to assist families in making decisions about when and how to go car-free, depending on their circumstances and capabilities. http://transportation.mpcsd.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/group_pages.phtml?gid=1573800&nid=390219

SamTrans will continue its bus service to Encinal with new route numbers 88 & 89, and it is still a great option. There is no change in stops & routes -- just improved clarity in route numbers.  http://transportation.mpcsd.schoolfusion.us/modules/groups/group_pages.phtml?gid=1573800&nid=130068

All transportation decisions are the choice of each family according to your own judgment.
