General Plan Update - Menlo Park Community Members Needed

The City is recruiting Menlo Park community members to serve on the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC). The advisory committee will help guide the General Plan and M-2 Area Update process over the next two years, and as a Committee Member, will serve as a liaison between staff and the community and as an ambassador of the project. The General Plan is the City’s “constitution” for physical development. All City actions related to land use, development, transportation and infrastructure need to be consistent with the General Plan. The City Council identified the need for the City to focus on the M-2 (General Industrial Zoning District) areas for the General Plan update. The M-2 Area is generally the business park area near US 101 and Bayfront Expressway.

Persons interested in serving on the GPAC should complete and submit the
application form by the August 11, 2014 deadline. The City Council is tentatively scheduled to appoint members to the GPAC on August 19, 2014.

The GPAC application can be found online at:http://menlopark.org/DocumentCenter/View...
