The 20-year-old woman's death is being investigated.

A woman who was found dead on the Caltrain tracks in San Jose on Monday has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office as 20-year-old Maria Juarez.

Juarez, a San Jose resident, was pronounced dead on the tracks near West Virginia Street, between the San Jose Diridon and Tamien Caltrain stations, at about 9:50 a.m., Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said. She was hit by southbound train No. 228, but the circumstances of the death remain under investigation, Dunn said.
